Strategic Plan

The Royal Hospital Donnybrook (RHD) Strategic Plan 2007 - 2009 marks a pivotal moment in the history of the hospital.  The strategy can be loosely broken down into three strands as follows:

• Provision of additional continuing care beds for patients with complex medical needs within the existing fabric
• Integrated Service Provision:  re-designing existing services to increase patient care options within the existing fabric
• Building a new future

It clearly defines the key patient groups that the hospital plans to serve in the future.  The associated services will clearly distinguish the hospital, emphasising its unique role in the future provision of Irish health services.  Short to medium term actions will bring the current building to capacity.  The RHD recognises that it must engage with the HSE to ensure that future services on the RHD site are planned in a comprehensive way.
