HSE National Achievement Awards 2008

In November 2007, the Phoenix Rehabilitation Unit in The Royal Hospital Donnybrook won first place in the Reconfiguration Category of the Better Service Awards in the Dublin mid-Leinster region.  The project went on to participate in the National Achievement Awards which took place in the Mansion House in Dublin in April 2008.  These awards brought together the HSE Innovation and Quality and Safety Awards for the first time. 

In March 2006, the Slán Abhaile programme (the RHD's joint development project with SVUH and the HSE) won a Taoiseach's Award for Excellence in Public Service.  Click on Community Services - Slán Abhaile for more information about this project.  

Also in November 2006, the Action Van service, which facilitates quick discharge from hospital by providing the speedy installation of equipment like toilet frames or stair banisters, won a HSE Innovations Special Merit Award, (2nd in its category).  Managed by the RHD and shared with the acute hospitals and community services, this development has eliminated duplicate assessment by hospital and community OTs of patients being discharged from hospital.
